Wow！ What a great story！ I am so excited to see that this is book 1 so there are more to come。 A small town， a very young girl wandering， no parent in sight， a big mystery。 You won’t be able to put this one down。 Of course there is a dog in the story！ A must read that I highly recommend。I received an advance copy of this book from the author， however， I voluntarily wrote an honest review。 All opinions are strictly my own。

Taylor is a Deputy Sheriff， the only female in the sheriff’s department and as such， her opinions and skill are often overlooked or claimed by someone else。 She is also an enabler。 Her father is an alcoholic and her youngest sister is a thief。 But Taylor keeps bailing them out of things and they keep taking advantage of her。 As my husband and I have both had a toxic family issue that was mentally draining and wiped our hands of the person and we are now much happier， I really didn’t have a lot o Taylor is a Deputy Sheriff， the only female in the sheriff’s department and as such， her opinions and skill are often overlooked or claimed by someone else。 She is also an enabler。 Her father is an alcoholic and her youngest sister is a thief。 But Taylor keeps bailing them out of things and they keep taking advantage of her。 As my husband and I have both had a toxic family issue that was mentally draining and wiped our hands of the person and we are now much happier， I really didn’t have a lot of sympathy for Taylor。 Bernard， the dog， was the redeeming character。 However， his background story is something I have read several times before on the internet， so I was surprised it was used here。 。。。more

I really loved this book， the first in the author’s new series。 Great story telling， the book takes place in a small town Hart’s Ridge。 The story takes us out on an adventure， mystery solving and life。I love the head character Taylor who works hard to keep family and work on track。 The author made the book difficult to put down and it wasn’t predictable。 I’m eager to read the second opus in the series。 I can really recommend this book。 I’m grateful to have been able to read this book。 Thanks！
